Why does the email tab in my group list email address instead of member name for some messages?

When reviewing online the email messages for your group, you usually see the sender's name in the Submitter column on the Email page.

You may notice that sometimes the Submitter name is an email address instead of a person's name. This occurs when someone sends email to the group from a secondary email address. Groups match the sender's name against the primary email address only. They recognize and allow mail sent from secondary email addresses, but don't correlate that address to a particular person when building this view. We opt to display the email address instead because we do not require secondary email addresses to be unique across user accounts and often these email addresses are shared (particularly by admins).
