Trusted Site settings in IE

Kavi Workspace 5 uses Web 2.0 technologies like AJAX (javascript) to enhance the user experience and improve functionality. The AJAX library we use relies on ActiveX being enabled. Internet Explorer (IE) 6 and 7 users will have a significantly degraded experience using Workspace 5 if ActiveX is disabled. (ActiveX can be disabled via the security settings in IE's "Internet Options...".) Enable ActiveX plug-ins or add Workspace as a Trusted Site to maximize the functionality available to you.

Note: You can enable ActiveX for all sites, without adding your organization as trusted site.

  1. go to the Tools menu in IE6 and select: Internet Options
  2. go to the Security tab and select: Trusted sites
  3. click: Custom Level...
  4. find Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins and select: Enable
    Note: This step can be done globally to enable ActiveX for all sites.
  5. to add Workspace as a Trusted Site, click: Sites...
